10 Ideas Blog
The 10 Ideas Blog was inspired by the words of James Altucher in his National Best Seller, Choose Yourself. Each week, we sit down and challenge our brain to come up with ten ideas for new inventions. This is a great exercise for anyone to participate in, and sometimes we come up with really great concepts (and sometimes, they’re a little crazy!) Our father, Ben Greenfield wrote an article about why this is such a good idea, and you can read that article here.
This installment of 10 ideas is a throwback to winter. We always love to be outside, but when the snow was falling faster and the winds were howling, we spent more time thinking about indoor activities. Technology was on our minds in early February.
Terran on Technology
I, Terran, like to be active, whether I’m inside or outside. Our parents are not fans of wifi, but we do use technology and I think it would be amazing to be able to use virtual reality to explore new places, and to participate in sporting events when trapped inside by bad weather. It would be fun to participate in archery competitions, to play basketball against the pros, to go on a white water rafting adventure, or to hike Mount Everest from my own living room. Unfortunately, the VR systems require wifi. It would be amazing if those games could be downloaded to the system and used without constant internet access.
River on Technology
I, River, was writing down my ten ideas while my mom and dad drank a cup of coffee and read the newspaper. I was thinking that it would be super convenient for people if those two things could be combined into one super smart coffee mug. It could even be a travel mug, so people could take it to go. The cup would have a screen on the side of it that would be regularly updated with the top headlines from the day. The person could click on the headlines to read more about each story, or just continue to monitor the headlines to be always aware of what was going on in the world.
You can see some of our other ideas from the week here:
