10 Ideas Blog

The 10 Ideas Blog was inspired by the words of James Altucher in his National Best Seller, Choose YourselfEach week, we sit down and challenge our brain to come up with ten ideas for new inventions.  This is a great exercise for anyone to participate in, and sometimes we come up with really great concepts (and sometimes, they’re a little crazy!) Our father, Ben Greenfield wrote an article about why this is such a good idea, and you can read that article here.

In this installment of 10 Ideas, we have some great ideas for the tech innovators of the world.  We were really inspired to make life easier, more fun, and a whole lot more convenient.  Before we sat down to record our ideas that day, we had been to tennis and music lessons, and, of course, had spent more quality time with our dogs – Dash and Comet.

Terran on Techy Innovation

I, Terran, was focused on music.  River and I have taken piano lessons for quite a while now, and more recently we started taking guitar lessons.  Although being able to read music gave us an advantage, the guitar is much harder on your fingers than a piano.  Mine were sore when I started my list of ten ideas.  I imagined that we could create a guitar aid that would make playing a little easier for newbies, like us.  It could either be used to help with strumming or to increase pressure on the strings and to save a person’s fingertips!  I also thought a special backpack for musicians would be a good idea.  It could be used to hold the guitar, picks, books, sheet music, and would come equipped with an iPad screen and charger.  It would also plug into the guitar and act as a portable amp, so you wouldn’t have to carry one everywhere.

River on Techy Innovation

I, River, was more focused on the tennis courts and golf course when I was writing my 10 ideas down. I thought it would be awesome to have a tennis racket with Siri, so you could ask questions, request music, record shorts, and more with the racket.  On the golf course, it would be nice to have a club that gave a power boost, which I imagined to be a jet-powered club. Finally, when I go back to the locker room, it would be great to be able to open my locker with just my voice, or maybe even facial recognition.  While I’m gone, Comet and Dash could be hanging out in a bed with attached dog bed!
