10 Ideas Blog
The 10 Ideas Blog was inspired by the words of James Altucher in his National Best Seller, Choose Yourself. Each week, we sit down and challenge our brain to come up with ten ideas for new inventions. This is a great exercise for anyone to participate in, and sometimes we come up with really great concepts (and sometimes, they’re a little crazy!) Our father Ben Greenfieldwrote an article about why this is such a good idea, and you can read that article here.
On the weekend of December 5th, we were definitely feeling inspired by our travels. We love animals, and especially our pets, but it is sometimes hard to travel and leave them at home. We are lucky because we have someone willing to come in and take care of them for us. Still, wouldn’t it be nice if there was something that could be trusted to ensure that the pets are safe and clean.
I, Terran, had the idea that a self-maintaining lizard tank. It would be nice to have a little water dispenser hanging above the water dish, so small amounts could automatically drip out when needed. I think it would also be great to have a thermostat in the tank that would communicate with my iTouch, so I would know that the lizards are safe. The thermostat could also maintain the temperature of the tank based on the needs of the lizard species. Finally, there would need to be a worm and cricket dispenser that would regularly let worms and crickets enter the lizard tank. If the tank could do all of this, then I could travel without worrying about our lizards.
I, River, think that a Doo Doo Scooper 2000 would be a perfect pet tool. Cleaning up the dog doo in the year is one of my least favorite chores. I imagine a tool similar to a Roomba, that could sweep the yard and suck up the mess into a large chamber. The tube would have some stuff in it that naturally breaks down waste quickly, turning it into fertilizer. Terran said it should have a catapault instead!
