10 Ideas Blog
In this installment of 10 Ideas, we had just received a package of frozen meats complete with dry ice to preserve the food. After creating smoke and running a few fun experiments with the dry ice, we sat down to write out our ten new ideas for the week. We came up with pretty great ideas to use liquid nitrogen and dry ice.
Terran on Dry Ice & Liquid Nitrogen
I, Terran, think dry ice is so amazing. We love when food items are shipped with dry ice, so we can create mini experiments with it. I thought it would be pretty amazing to have a liquid nitrogen water balloon. Of course, we couldn’t have water balloon fights with them, but I think it would be cool to see what happens when the liquid nitrogen explodes out of the balloon and onto a target. I also thought smoke bombs using dry ice would be a fun way to confuse an enemy.
River on Dry Ice & Liquid Nitrogen
I, River, was thinking that it would be best to create a type of dry ice or other substance that never loses its freeze. It would be able to keep drinks cold forever, and could be used for sending perishable food over very, very long distances. If we couldn’t figure that out, maybe we could fill the inner wall of a special thermos with liquid nitrogen instead, for keeping drinks cold for days.
You can see some of our other ideas from the week here:
