10 Ideas Blog

The 10 Ideas Blog was inspired by the words of James Altucher in his National Best Seller, Choose YourselfEach week, we sit down and challenge our brain to come up with ten ideas for new inventions.  This is a great exercise for anyone to participate in, and sometimes we come up with really great concepts (and sometimes, they’re a little crazy!) Our father, Ben Greenfield wrote an article about why this is such a good idea, and you can read that article here.

,In this installment of 10 ideas, we had a lot of ideas that would make life, in general a little bit easier. But, what about upgrading something we use every day – our eyes? We use goggles for swimming, flying, protecting our eyes during science experiments, etc. We thought we could improve upon goggles to make them even better!

Terran on Goggle Upgrades

The first thing that comes to my mind when making upgrades to goggles was to increase visibility in the water. Adding mini windshield wipers on the inside of our goggles would be beneficial when they fog up. Goggles with headlights would allow better visibility in cloudy water and in dark areas. And, for those of us who love music, I thought it would be a more enjoyable experience to scuba dive with goggles that have headphones built in. Maybe we could add googly eyes to the outside of headphone goggles if they needed to be worn in public!

River on Goggle Upgrades

Terran and I had some similar thoughts on goggles this week. One upgrade I would make would be to create goggles with photochromic lenses. This means they would darken in the sunlight and lighten in softer light or in the dark, similar to how it works with glasses today. I also think it would be a great idea to combine Terran’s flashlight goggle idea with my idea of a flashlight that lights up brighter according to the time of night. Hmm, I think we are on to something here!
