River and Terran make Crème Brûlée and tell us all about their favorite Christmas traditions!

Crème Brûlée Ingredients:

  • 2 cups organic whipping cream
  • 6 egg yolks from organic free range chicken
  • 1/2 cup organic pure cane sugar
  • 1 1/2 TBSP organic pure vanilla

Crème Brûlée Steps:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix together egg yolks, sugar and vanilla until creamy and smooth. Heat heavy whipping cream until there is a small boil around the edges of the pot. When the cream is warm, remove it from the stove and slowly pour it down the side of the mixed egg bowl. Be careful not to pour the cream directly on the mixture as this will cause prematurely cooking of the egg yolks.

Pour the cream mixture into four ramekins. Place ramekins into a baking pan and fill the baking pan halfway with boiling water. Place baking pan in the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes.

Remove them from the oven and let cool on the counter for at least 30 minutes, and then refrigerate for two hours. After refrigerating, cover the tops with organic cane sugar and melt the sugar with a restaurant quality blow torch. If you like, garnish with fresh fruit. Enjoy!
