What is Chaga?
[chah-guh]
It’s a fungus! Wait, don’t freak. It’s actually a type of mushroom which is a type of good fungus. It has a lot of great properties that are good for your body like reducing inflammation, keeping those viral bugs away, improve physical endurance, and more. We learned out Chaga mushrooms on a trip to Finland. We got to go mushroom hunting in the National Forest on fallen Birch trees.
Chaga Tea Directions
- Chop up your Chaga mushrooms into 1″ pieces. It’s really tough so you need to put some muscle into it!
- Fill a pot with 1 liter of water
- Put the Chaga chunks (two handfuls) into the water
- Let simmer with a lid for 1 hour
You can reuse the Chaga chunks a few times before they lose all their flavor. Enjoy with Maple Syrup or Honey.
Tip: If you are wanting to get more benefits from the Chaga mushrooms you’ll want to make a tincture.
